Job Description

Position salary range:  60,000-70,000

Position reports to:  Senior Vice President of Development

Grants Manager

Full-time position

Location: located at 3458 Reading Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45229

Position Overview:

The Grants Manager is a key Development Team member and a liaison between the organization and its investors. Reporting to the Sr. VP of Development, the Grants Manager works closely with the Director of Grants Administration and shares responsibility for researching, identifying, preparing, submitting, and managing grant proposals/reports that support organizational goals and meet funder guidelines and criteria. This person is a primary grant writer, manages funder relationships, engages in compliance reporting, and supports special project initiatives. This position requires strong writing, data analysis, program budgeting, and project management skills, emphasizing outcome measurement.

What you’ll do:

•Serve as Project manager for activities related to securing grant funding for the Urban League.
•Write grant proposals, applications, letters of Intent (LOIs), and other supporting documents for grant submissions and ensure writing content meets funder requirements.
•Work with key stakeholders within the Urban League to accurately determine funding needs and goals.
•Identify and research all potential grant opportunities from corporations, foundations, and government agencies to increase funding.
•Collaborate with other departments to solicit the necessary input and information to secure grants successfully.
•Oversee a portfolio of current grants, consistently meeting grant submission timelines.
•Collaborates with the Finance team, processes and manages incoming grant funds.
•Maintain a master calendar of grants, track grant applications, and provide support documentation and other necessary information following submission.
•Coordinate and follow up on the progress of submitted grant applications and proposals.
•Demonstrate deep knowledge of grant auditing policies to guarantee compliance.
•Develop and maintain strong relationships with grant agencies to amplify funding consideration for the Organization.
•Perform other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need:

•Bachelor’s degree (or 3-7 years of work experience with nonprofit administration, grant writing, or fundraising).
•3+ years of experience in fundraising, grant writing or grants management.
•Demonstrated experience writing grants and managing grant processes, including a proven track record of securing funds.
•Demonstrated analytical and persuasive writing skills experience as well as superior editing skills, including the ability to convey complex information clearly to a diverse audience.
•Ability to meet strict timelines and deadlines.
•Experience with budgeting, forecasting & accounting.
•Excellent organizational and managerial skills.
•Strong attention to detail.
•Highly computer literate with strong capability in email, MS Office Suite, and other related business and communication tools.

Working environment:

This is a full-time, in-person position located at 3458 Reading Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45229. This position requires regular sitting or standing for long periods at a computer; frequent bending, twisting, stooping, and crouching while working at a desk; filing and record handling; regular use of both hands/arms in reaching, handling, grasping, and keyboarding while using a variety of office equipment; frequent use of a telephone and computer to communicate with coworkers and the public; regular standing to use a variety of office equipment; occasionally will lift and carry items up to 30 pounds; regularly communicate in oral and written form with coworkers and with the general public, constant reading, and interpretation of documents.

Salary information:

The estimated salary range for this position is $60,000 – $70,000. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
