Job Description
Position salary range: $200,000 to $215,000
Aspen Leadership Group is proud to partner with the Chicago Council on Global Affairs in the search for a Vice President of Development.
Reporting to the President & CEO, the Vice President of Development will be a key member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and play an essential role in developing philanthropic strategies (identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship) and in ensuring the philanthropic goals are successfully met. The VP will be an experienced and entrepreneurial fundraising professional, who will work with the Council’s ELT to build a dynamic, innovative, and sustainable financial base for the Council.
Founded in 1922, the Chicago Council on Global Affairs is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing knowledge and engagement in global affairs. Their in-depth analysis and expert-led public opinion research influence policy conversations and inform the insights we share with their growing community. Through open dialogue of diverse, fact-based perspectives, they empower more people to help shape our global future. The Council is first and foremost a community where people who care about global affairs can connect — in person or virtually — with each other and with global leaders, influencers, and experts. Through a unique combination of events and engagement experiences, leadership development programs, and public opinion research and analysis, they help more people deepen their understanding of the world and how they can make a tangible impact, in ways big and small. They are committed to making global affairs more accessible, applicable, and actionable for more people.
A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least twelve years of fundraising experience, preferably with individual giving at a leadership level, is required. The Chicago Council on Global Affairs will consider candidates with a broad range of backgrounds. If you are excited about this role and feel that you can contribute to the Council, but your experience does not exactly align with every qualification listed above, we encourage you to apply. All applications must be accompanied by a cover letter and résumé. Cover letters should be responsive to the mission of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and the responsibilities and qualifications specified in the position prospectus.
The salary range for this position is $200,000 to $215,000. The Chicago Council on Global Affairs offers a comprehensive package of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, paid parental leave, 403(b) retirement plan, and generous paid time off. The Council also offers an Employee Assistance Program, mobile phone stipend, discounted bikeshare membership and parking, and complimentary Council membership that can also be extended to family members.
If you require reasonable accommodation in completing this application, interviewing, or participating in the selection process, please contact Millie Taylor at millietaylor@aspenleadershipgroup.com.
