About Normandale Community College Foundation:

The mission of the Normandale Community College Foundation (NCCF) is to provide philanthropic resources to help Normandale Community College (NCC) achieve its full potential as a college. The Foundation provides opportunities for individuals, organizations, business and industry to work with Normandale in meeting a broad range of educational purposes. Governed by a Board of Directors composed of community and business leaders; the Foundation sponsors a variety of friend and fund-raising activities. The Foundation has four full-time staff and is a 501(c)(3) organization, separate from the College. The Foundation is part of the Advancement team of the College, paired with the Marketing & Communications Department and Grants team.

Normandale Foundation is located on the Normandale Community College Campus located in Bloomington, MN and is an urban two-year community college serving the Twin Cities' region. Established in 1968, the college annually serves more than 15,000 students from diverse backgrounds, making it the largest community college in the state.

Job Description

Position salary range:  $70,000 to $80,000 / year

Position reports to:  Executive Director.

The Annual Giving Manager is a key member of our advancement operations, focusing on developing and managing comprehensive annual giving programs that support donor acquisition, retention, and cultivation toward major gift opportunities. This position leads multi-channel fundraising campaigns through digital and mail strategies while maintaining a robust mid-level donor portfolio ($1,000 - $9,999) through in-person cultivation efforts. The role is instrumental in building the foundation's donor pipeline and supporting the overall advancement strategy.

The position is full time, exempt, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday -Friday with occasional evening hours. Salary range is $70,000 - $80,000, with full benefits including health, vision, dental, disability, life insurance, 401K with employer match. Reports to Executive Director.

Essential Functions Include:

Annual Fund Operations 60%

Develops and executes comprehensive annual giving solicitation plans for the fiscal year that include fundraising strategies aimed at donors and prospects with capacity to make gifts up to $10,000.
Manages multi-channel fundraising campaigns including direct mail, digital appeals, email marketing, and social media strategies to maximize donor acquisition and retention.
Analyzes giving data and donor trends to inform campaign strategies and optimize fundraising results.
Coordinates with Foundation and Advancement teams to develop compelling case statements, appeal content, and marketing materials for annual giving campaigns.
Manages annual giving cycles including Giving Tuesday, year-end campaigns, Alumni giving, and other targeted appeals.
Utilizes fundraising database to segment donor audiences, track campaign performance, and generate reports for leadership and board updates.
Researches and implements best practices in annual fund development and emerging digital fundraising technologies.
Supports employee and retiree giving programs and other constituency-based campaigns.
Mid-Level Donor Cultivation 30%

Manages a portfolio of 150-200 mid-level donors and prospects ($1,000 - $9,999) through personal cultivation, solicitation, and relationship-building activities.
Conducts face-to-face visits, phone calls, and personalized communications to develop meaningful donor relationships.
Identifies and qualifies prospects with potential for increased giving and major gift capacity.
Collaborates with Major Gift Officer to facilitate appropriate donor moves and transitions to major gift pipeline.
Plans and executes small-scale cultivation events and donor engagement activities.
Maintains detailed records of all donor interactions and relationship management activities in the database.
Meets with Executive Director on a weekly basis for accountability and to discuss strategy and moves.
Collaborative Partnership and Support 10%

Works closely with Donor Relations and Scholarship Manager to ensure seamless donor experience and integrated advancement activities.
Supports Creating Futures breakfast and other major events as needed while maintaining focus on annual fund priorities.
Participates in Foundation team meetings and contributes to overall strategic planning for advancement operations.
Collaborates with Alumni Engagement Specialist and volunteers to identify alumni prospects and cultivation opportunities.
Engages in professional development activities to stay current with fundraising best practices and trends.

Additional information  

Required Experience and Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in annual fund development, direct marketing, or related fundraising activities
Excellent public relations and relationship-building skills with internal and external constituencies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data and adjust strategies accordingly
Motivated self-starter who works well in collaborative and independent settings
Dependable, conscientious team player with a positive attitude, integrity and professional judgment
Engages in and promotes culture of diversity and inclusion
Proficiency with fundraising databases and donor management systems

Desirable Experience and Qualifications:

Experience with Raiser's Edge or similar CRM database systems
Knowledge of digital marketing platforms and email marketing tools
Experience managing mid-level donor portfolios
Understanding of planned giving and major gift development
Sales and customer service experience
Experience working in higher education or nonprofit environments
High level of comfort with ambiguity
Willingness to learn new things on a regular basis
