Job Description

Position reports to:  Vice President Philanthropy

Position salary range:  123k to 163k

The Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation (Foundation) is seeking to hiring an experienced Senior Director of Gift Planning who will be responsible in partnership with the Vice President of Philanthropy, to develop and implement strategies to market, cultivate and secure current and future gifts across organization wide portfolios to generate principal, major, and individual giving. This expert will provide guidance, expertise, training, and will be an active community partner and advisor with ability to successfully navigate complex planned gifts, estates, or settlements on behalf of the Foundation. This position reports to the Vice President of Philanthropy.

Essential functions include leading gift planning strategy, portfolio management, train and engage with internal teams as well as collaborate with external partners and donors in promoting fundraising success across the Foundation.

Qualifications:
•Eight years or more of direct fundraising, estate planning/managing complex financial gifts
•Experience with gift planning oversight, revenue, and creating successful outcomes
•Effective interpersonal skills with positive use of discretion, confidentiality, and patience
•Experience with personal solicitation and program development in fundraising
•Strong communication and collaboration skills with a diverse population of staff and donors
•Detail oriented, self-motivated, and flexible to thrive in a dynamic environment
•Strong orientation to culture and the ability to present and facilitate with a diverse population
•Proven track record of gift planning proposals, commitments, and results
•Ability to engage and understand legal, financial, and fundraising aspects of gift planning
•Strong organizational skills and the ability to establish priorities are essential
•Ability to leverage knowledge and make recommendations of best practices and programs related to gift planning to maximize organization wide revenue goals
•Team oriented with flexibility and self-confidence resulting in reliability and efficiency

Educational Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree is required for this position. Prefer certification as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and/or Juris Doctor (JD).

Other: A full-benefit package is offered with major medical choices, paid-time off, and 403b and Roth options. This is a supervisory leadership position.
