Michigan State University
Michigan State University College of Human Medicine is seeking a strategic, relationship-focused Associate Director of Development to join its advancement team. This is an exciting opportunity for a proven fundraiser to support mission-driven work that advances health equity, public health, student access, and biomedical research.As a major gift officer, you will manage a portfolio of approximately 75 major donor prospects and focus on identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding gifts of $100,000 or more. You will work closely with university and college leadership, faculty, alumni, and donors to align philanthropic interests with institutional priorities and drive support for scholarships, endowed faculty positions, and high-impact research.

Ideal candidates will:
• Have five or more years of experience in major gift fundraising, preferably in higher education, academic medicine, or biomedical research
• Demonstrate a successful track record in securing individual gifts of $100,000 or more
• Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust with diverse donors and stakeholders
• Be comfortable managing a prospect pool, conducting discovery visits, making strategic solicitations, and working collaboratively across units
• Be willing to travel in-state and nationally to build and sustain donor relationships
