Job Description

Position reports to:  Associate Vice President of Development

Position salary range:  $52,400+/annually

Stewardship Manager – Remote within IA, MN, ND, NE, or SD

Starting salary for candidate who meets minimum requirements (Experience will be compensated): $52,400+ annually

Typical Schedule: 40 hours/week

Union Membership: This position is represented by SEIU.


What to expect:

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Donor Engagement and Annual Giving, the Stewardship Manager is a critical role responsible for leading the planning and implementation of a comprehensive donor stewardship program for the PPNCS Foundation. In collaboration with the Director of Donor Engagement and Annual Giving, the Stewardship Manager ensures PPNCS Foundation donors have the highest quality donor experience through outstanding customer service, meaningful communications, and compelling programming designed to diversify, celebrate, and grow philanthropy. Stewardship Managers are advocates in implementing our mission of “Advancing and protecting sexual and reproductive healthcare for all.” They may perform other related duties as assigned.  

Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday between 8am – 5pm

Responsibilities:

This position will impact us with the following contributions:

Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of an integrated donor stewardship program, encompassing intentional donor centric communications, events, and experiences based on donor segment analysis.
Oversee the creation of the annual Gratitude Report and regular donor impact reports by collaborating with internal partners to gather impact stories and analyze data on the use of funds.
Support the creation and implementation of personalized stewardship for principal and major gift donors, which may include stewardship reports, dedication events, signage, or other recognition to celebrate the impact of their philanthropy.
Collaborate across the Foundation and PPNCS team to plan, organize, and execute stewardship publications and programming to showcase the impact of philanthropy, including Friends for Good (mid-level donors), President’s Circle (major donors), and Legacy Circle (planned gift donors).
Manage requests for specialized stewardship from across the Foundation and PPNCS team and ensure projects align with the overarching donor stewardship program.
Develop creative strategies and projects to engage donors through the stewardship program throughout the year.
Design and assess an integrated gift acknowledgement process to ensure timely and accurate receipting and acknowledgement of gifts made at all levels, including special thank you letters from organizational leaders.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Three years of experience working in a donor relations, fundraising, donor stewardship, or similar role
Three years of experience working in development or similar environment (i.e. sales, political organizing, higher education, nonprofits)
Database and Microsoft Office experience

Skill, Knowledge, and Abilities:

Expertise in project development and proven ability to develop and execute on plans
Innovative, creative strategist dedicated to continuous improvement
Good interpersonal and communications skills and ability to work effectively with staff, administrators, board members, and volunteers
Ability to work with customers from diverse backgrounds and create a positive environment that demonstrates PPNCS’ commitment to diversity

This position is included in the SEIU bargaining unit, and depending on state law, requires union dues be deducted from employee paychecks in an amount up to 2.25% of gross pay.
