Job Description
Position salary range: 115K - $135K DOE
Position reports to: Chief Development Officer

Location: Seattle, Washington (Hybrid, In-Office Required)
Salary: $115,000 – $135,000 (DOE)

Position Overview
The Senior Development Officer is a key contributor to Treehouse’s fundraising strategy, supporting a $7M+ annual individual and major gifts program.
This role focuses on:
Managing and growing a portfolio of major donors
Driving multi-year fundraising strategies
Strengthening donor engagement through relationship-based development
You’ll work closely with staff, leadership, and the community to align fundraising with program impact—while supporting Treehouse’s mission to serve youth in foster care through an equity-centered approach.
Key Responsibilities
Donor Portfolio Management
Manage a portfolio of ~150 high-capacity donors
Cultivate relationships to secure $10K+ gifts
Conduct 10+ donor touchpoints weekly
Fundraising Strategy
Develop and execute multi-year “moves management” plans
Align donor interests with organizational priorities through strategic storytelling
Deliver personalized impact reports to donors
Engagement & Stewardship
Partner with Board of Directors on donor engagement
Host and facilitate donor meetings and events
Serve as a public-facing ambassador for Treehouse
Prospecting & CRM
Identify and research new donor prospects
Track all activity in CRM (Salesforce or equivalent)
Prepare and present tailored proposals
Qualifications
Required
5+ years in fundraising, development, or high-touch sales
Experience working with high-net-worth individuals
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Preferred
Experience with donor CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
Proven ability to drive revenue and manage strategic partnerships
Additional Requirements
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to pass background and MVR checks

Work Environment
Full-time (Monday–Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM)
Hybrid schedule (in-office required)
Local travel for donor meetings and events
Occasional regional travel

Strong critical thinking and decision-making ability
Ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations
