Job Description
The Vice Chancellor for Institutional Advancement provides strategic leadership to advance North Carolina Central University’s philanthropic growth, sustainability, and institutional priorities. Reporting to the Chancellor, the VCIA oversees a comprehensive advancement program, aligning fundraising and engagement efforts with the University’s mission while promoting accountability, transparency, and effective stewardship.
NCCU seeks a dynamic, mission driven leader to guide fundraising, alumni engagement, and strategic partnerships in support of both immediate priorities and long-term institutional growth. Founded in 1910 and recognized as a leading HBCU, NCCU offers a broad academic portfolio and remains committed to access, excellence, and student success.
Working closely with Chancellor Karrie Dixon, senior leadership, the NCCU Foundation, and the Alumni Association, the VCIA ensures coordinated, high impact advancement efforts. As the University’s chief fundraising officer, the VCIA personally cultivates major donors while leading a relationship-centered strategy that strengthens alumni connection and expands philanthropic support.
The VCIA oversees all advancement functions, including major and annual giving, alumni relations, corporate and foundation partnerships, and communications, delivering a clear and cohesive strategy that enhances visibility and drives results. Through collaboration across campus and beyond, the VCIA builds a strong culture of philanthropy that positions NCCU for sustained impact and growth.
