Position Details

  • Salary Range: $105,000 – $120,000

  • Reports To: Senior Director, Annual Giving & Development Operations

Position Overview

Epiphany School seeks a creative, enthusiastic, and highly organized professional who is passionate about urban education and expanding opportunities for young people to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

In close partnership with the Chief Development Officer and the Head of School, the Director of Marketing, Communications & Events plays a critical role in building meaningful relationships with Epiphany’s donors, volunteers, and broader community through compelling storytelling, innovative communications, exceptional events, and thoughtful stewardship.

This role blends marketing strategy, donor engagement, event production, and project management into one highly visible position that directly strengthens philanthropic support for Epiphany’s mission.

The Director collaborates closely with the Development team and other school leaders to elevate Epiphany’s voice, deepen community engagement, and advance the school’s fundraising and community-building goals.

This position occasionally requires evening and weekend work to support events, donor engagement activities, and school programs.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing & Communications

  • Develop and execute integrated marketing and communications strategies that strengthen donor engagement and elevate Epiphany’s profile among supporters

  • Create compelling content for print, digital, social media, email, and web platforms

  • Manage and update the school’s website and digital communications channels

  • Explore and apply emerging digital communications trends and technologies to deepen donor and supporter relationships

  • Ensure consistent brand, voice, messaging, and visual identity across all communications

Donor & Community Engagement

Design and implement a comprehensive donor stewardship program, including:

  • Meaningful donor touchpoints throughout the year

  • Thoughtful donor recognition and appreciation strategies

  • Development and management of Epiphany-branded materials and donor gifts

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Create and track opportunities for volunteers and supporters to engage with the school community

  • Collaborate with development staff to communicate the impact of philanthropy and strengthen donor relationships

Event Strategy & Production

  • Lead planning and execution of major fundraising events and smaller engagement gatherings

  • Manage event logistics including timelines, budgets, vendor relationships, communications materials, and volunteers

  • Collaborate with the Development team to align events with fundraising and donor cultivation goals

  • Evaluate event outcomes and identify opportunities to strengthen engagement and fundraising impact

Project Management & Collaboration

  • Serve as a key project manager across communications and engagement initiatives and timelines

  • Work closely with the Chief Development Officer and Development team to align engagement strategies with fundraising objectives

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated commitment to Epiphany School’s mission and urban education

  • Strong experience in marketing, communications, nonprofit development, or a related field

  • Strong storytelling, writing, and content creation skills

  • Experience planning and executing events of varying scale

  • Comfort with digital communications platforms, social media tools, and emerging technologies

  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detail

  • Collaborative, creative, and relationship-oriented approach

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently and collaboratively

  • Positive and resourceful attitude; sense of humor is a plus

Education

While not necessarily required, a post-secondary, bachelor’s, or advanced degree, along with relevant work experience, is preferred. Related educational studies in lieu of work experience will be considered.
