About Men of color in development (MOCID)
Consistent with the African American Development Officers Network (AADO) mission to provide professional development, education, employment support, mentorship, and networking opportunities for fundraisers of color (3,100 members across North America), this new affiliate group has gained significant momentum in a very short period. The need for such an affinity group is evident in the unprecedented level of response for participation from men of color in the advancement space from across the country—and abroad. To that end, the AADO Executive Director and Board of Directors have initiated an inaugural Advisory Committee to help facilitate the launch of this critical component of AADO’s work to enhance its mission and fill a void for this important group of its membership. Our goal is to provide the necessary platform, network, and resources to assist men of color in successfully navigating this noble and impactful profession. As the strategy and programmatic efforts unfold and evolve, our future endeavors have the potential to truly facilitate industry-wide change.
