Lafayette College
Senior Director of Individual Giving
( Pennsylvania | On-site )
Job Description
Aspen Leadership Group is proud to partner with Lafayette College in the search for a Senior Director of Individual Giving.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Individual Giving, the Senior Director of Individual Giving will oversee the College’s major gifts program and lead a talented team of frontline fundraisers dedicated to advancing Lafayette’s philanthropic vision. Working collaboratively across campus—with Advancement partners, faculty, and institutional leaders—the Senior Director will play a key role in strengthening relationships with alumni, parents, and friends, deepening engagement, and driving philanthropic investment in Lafayette’s mission and future. The Senior Director will provide strategic leadership and management of the College’s major gifts program and ensure the successful engagement, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of alumni, parents, and friends, while also maintaining a personal portfolio of high-capacity prospects. This role will play a pivotal part in driving philanthropic results that advance institutional priorities and prepare the College for campaign success.
Lafayette College is a highly selective liberal arts and engineering institution with an endowment in the top 2% of independent colleges nationally. Their beautiful campus overlooks the historic Delaware River, and their students, faculty, and staff take pride in the vibrant, inclusive community that defines Lafayette. Talented faculty, staff, and coaches challenge their students to move beyond the familiar—to take intellectual risks, engage deeply, and develop into thoughtful leaders.
With a 10:1 student-to-faculty ratio, students engage in cutting-edge research and hands-on learning experiences with globally recognized faculty—opportunities often not available at other institutions until graduate school. Lafayette offers 23 athletic programs, and 20% of undergraduates are student-athletes. As Lafayette College enters its bicentennial year, it continues to receive national recognition for its commitment to academic excellence. In multiple rankings from respected outlets like U.S. News & World Report, Washington Monthly, and Forbes, as well as an inaugural list from LinkedIn, Lafayette College has once again been rated among the top colleges in the country.
A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least eight years of progressively responsible fundraising experience, including at least three years of supervisory experience leading a team of gift officers in a higher education or similarly complex environment, is required for this position. Lafayette College will consider candidates with a broad range of backgrounds. If you are excited about this role and feel that you can contribute to Lafayette, but your experience does not exactly align with every qualification listed above, we encourage you to apply. All applications must be accompanied by a cover letter and résumé.
The target salary for this position is $150,000. Lafayette College offers various benefit programs as part of a full-time employee total compensation package. Their compensation package includes medical, dental, life insurance, retirement, flexible spending accounts, paid and unpaid time off, disability insurance, worker’s compensation insurance, and more.
If you require reasonable accommodation in completing this application, interviewing, or participating in the selection process, please contact Jeanette Rivera-Watts at jeanetterw@aspenleadershipgroup.com.
